On 20th May, AFWM Ltd sponsored the St Michael’s Way Challenge – a 12 mile coast-to-coast walk from Lelant to Marazion hosted by the Mounts Bay Rotary Club.
Rotary has been working with local communities in drylands across the world to support the building of sand dams. Sand dams are a simple, low-cost and low-maintenance, replicable rainwater harvesting technology. They provide a clean, local water supply for domestic and farming use and are suited to semi-arid areas of the world.
We were very happy to sponsor this event and even had one of our own staff members ‘Walking for Water’ to help raise money for this fantastic cause. John Waldie, Managing Director AFWM Ltd, set up our stall next to the registration gazebo in Marazion and was there to meet and greet tired walkers as they completed their epic trek.
