The Venus Women’s Awards Gala took place at the Crown Plaza in Plymouth on 27th April. Hosted by Tara Howard and Alexis Bowater, it was a glitzy, glamorous affair and a fantastic celebration of women in business across Devon and Cornwall.
AFWM Ltd have been the Venus Lifetime Achievement Award category sponsor for 4 years running, but this year, we had the honour of being the Regional Show Sponsors for Devon and Cornwall. The Awards kicked off with the annual launch party in September 2017, held at Bishop Fleming’s Plymouth office. In the months that followed we whittled down our nominees to five semi-finalists and eventually chose our three finalists – all of whom were excellent candidates for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Our overall winner was Gillian Groves, nominated for her efforts in helping clients, friends and staff with their health and wellbeing through her boutique day spa, The Treatment Loft. Congratulations Gillian, a very worthy winner!
The charity partner for the Awards was St Luke’s Hospice – an independent Plymouth based charity providing specialist advice and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. We were delighted to be able to support this amazing charity through the Venus Awards.
